Travel Region
Sri Pada / Adam's Peak
A sacred mountain region linking the Nallathanniya pilgrimage route with waterfalls reached from separate valleys and roads.
Regional overview
Planning a Visit to Sri Pada / Adam's Peak
The Sri Pada collection includes the Adam's Peak route from Nallathanniya, Gartmore Falls and Laxapana Falls. Although they share the wider mountain landscape, they are not consecutive stops on one direct mountain road.
Plan the pilgrimage climb as its own physical commitment. Waterfall access should be evaluated separately, with enough recovery time, daylight and transport rather than added automatically because the map points appear close.

Before You Build an Itinerary
- 1Check the current pilgrimage season, weather and route conditions before beginning the climb.
- 2Do not attempt to cross the mountain directly between Nallathanniya and waterfall locations unless following an authorized, researched route.
- 3Plan rest, hydration, warm layers and sufficient time for the long stair ascent and descent.
- 4Treat Gartmore and Laxapana as separate access plans and follow their destination-specific safety guidance.
