Overview

Mini World's End is a striking cliff-edge viewpoint located within Pitawala Pathana in the Knuckles (Dumbara) region near Laggala. The grassland plateau ends in a dramatic vertical drop, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges and valleys below.

Visitors must purchase tickets at the office near the car park. From there, a 750-metre walk across flat grassland leads to the viewpoint on the route documented for this page. The wider Pitawala Pathana area contains more than one path, and mist, wet ground or maintenance can make the approach less obvious than it first appears.

Pitawala Pathana is a distinctive highland grassland in the Knuckles region. Official tourism material describes its thin-soil grassland ecosystem, while a regional visitor study records a Forest Department ticket counter and visitor facilities near the trail area.

The plains and cliff area can be extremely windy, and the edges are unprotected. Caution is required when approaching the rock edge.

Visit time depends on weather, crowding, walking pace and how long conditions remain clear. Allow flexibility rather than relying on a fixed completion time, and ask at the ticket office about current hours, trail conditions and facility availability.
